Manufacturing Quality Engineer

About the position
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our Willis, Texas manufacturing team. In this role, you will work closely with customers, production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality concerns, improve processes, and ensure our products meet customer and company requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on quality professional who enjoys problem-solving, working with customers, and driving continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment
Responsibilities
- Support customer satisfaction by responding to customer quality concerns, claims, and requests in a timely manner.
- Coordinate return authorizations and follow up on suspect or non-conforming material.
- Communicate customer feedback to Production, Engineering, and Quality teams and support timely resolution of potential or actual quality issues.
- Lead quality investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities.
- Analyze quality data, identify trends and risks, and develop recommendations to prevent recurring issues.
- Support sorting, containment, and inspection activities and provide guidance to personnel involved in these activities.
- Communicate investigation results and corrective actions to internal teams and customers.
- Support compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Participate in internal audits and support corrective and preventive action activities.
- Maintain quality records, reporting systems, and customer information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for quality improvement and strengthen overall manufacturing performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical drawings, GD&T, and quality core tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex quality issues.
- Ability to make sound, data-driven decisions and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- The position is on-site and supports our manufacturing operations in Willis.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the automotive or off-highway manufacturing industry.
- Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and/or ISO 45001.
- Experience working directly with customers on quality issues.
- Experience with quality core tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and 8D.
- Experience with customer portals or quality reporting systems.
