About the position
Our Off-Highway business segment is a leading supplier in the design and manufacture of mechatronic assemblies, pedals, steering columns, and mechanical cables for the agricultural, construction, and powersports markets. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Manager to support our Willis Operations.
The Manufacturing Engineer Manager is expected to develop and implement World Class production (mostly assembly) processes & techniques. The role will design, implement, monitor and maintain production processes for new and existing products. Working closely with Product Development & multidisciplinary cross functional teams (XFT) to achieve the most efficient and cost-effective way of producing the highest quality product possible while ensuring full compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Define and manage both capital and expense budgets for new equipment and projects
- Work with engineering and other departments to produce cost estimates for new designs by estimating TAKT, tooling and fixture requirements and costs, etc.
- Implement improvement and change activities to solve bottleneck problems and drive up the performance of production
- Review manufacturing processes and efficiencies utilizing lean toolbox, with support from Lean Manager
- Ability to manage personal projects and objectives while coordinating and reporting on those of the entire Manufacturing Engineering Team.
- Improve existing operations, incorporating new methods and processes
- Identify best practice (benchmarking) techniques and processes across facilities and implement as appropriate
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- BS from accredited college in an Engineering Discipline
- Advanced Problem Solving (5 Why, Fishbone, Six Sigma, etc.)
- Engineering / technical experience
- Computer, MRP, MS application and CAD literate
- Background in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering
- Commercially aware
- Practical experience of lean manufacturing processes
- Good working knowledge of legislation
