About the position
Our Off-Highway business segment is a leading supplier in designing and manufacturing mechatronic assemblies, pedals, steering columns, and mechanical cables for the agricultural, construction, power sports, and outdoor power equipment markets. This segment seeks an experienced finance business partner to support its Willis, Texas operations as the Senior Accountant. Our Senior Accountant Develops, interprets, and implements complex financial and accounting concepts or techniques for financial planning and control, independently or with minimal supervision. The Senior Cost Accountant will report to the Plant Controller at the Willis facility.
Responsibilities
- Be the Finance lead regarding standard costs, bills of materials, and rate routings. Review and process cost roll requests. Calculate the annual labor and overhead rates. Prepare and process the annual year-end cost roll.
- Analyze inventory transactions and resolve errors as needed. Provide explanations for inventory discrepancies and transaction errors. Work with the Materials team to limit cycle count adjustments. Provide inventory-tracking reports as required. Complete monthly inventory reconciliation and resolve variances on a timely basis.
- Analyze inventory Excess and Obsolete (E&O) inventory list. Analyze and update individual inventory items’ E&O reserve requirements based on finance guidelines. Provide E&O explanations and analysis as needed.
- Be the Finance contact for the Plant Operations departments. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with the Plant Operations budget, forecasting, monthly financial reporting, and explaining monthly financial results and variances. Completing sales reporting and analysis as required. Provide the Operations department support as needed.
- Assist with the yearly budgeting process, physical inventory audit, and internal controls documentation and auditing.
- Assist with quarterly and year-end tax reporting and corporate reporting requirements.
- Ensure that Internal Controls are being followed and assist with the Internal Control documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum seven (7) years of accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
- SAP/Microsoft Office knowledgeable.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively handle highly sensitive and personal information with sound judgement, tact and discretion.
