Senior IDM Buyer

1. General

The role of a Local Senior Buyer is to manage all indirect material and services spend in China in line with Corporate Purchasing policy.

1. 1. Location: Wuxi Plant

2. Main Activities

• Deploy Kongsberg Purchasing strategy and supplier panel for his/her plant.
• Preform efficient sourcing in line with Purchasing Procedure and close corporation with Category Purchasing.
• Identifying optimization opportunities in specification set up, prices and local market research.
• Coordinate purchases of indirect materials, goods, services and equipment to ensure that the company operational needs are met, taking into account cost, quality and delivery targets and to ensure continuity of supply and best market conditions, ensuring overall purchase-to-pay process is running smoothly.  
• Maintain supplier data, including contacts, in system.
• Work closely with key stakeholders, review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements.

3. Reporting / Analysis Activities

• Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities.
• Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.

4. Tasks in JAGGAER 

• Perform Verification Purchasing step in the JAGGAER system for all PO:s for the local site(s)
  • Check supplier, price, category code, G/L account fields (mainly supplier & price)
  • Check validity with stakeholders before approving (eg, legal services to be checked with legal etc.)
• Guide the indirect purchasing colleagues for company beniefitial and best practise of China operations.
• Steer requests towards pre-approved suppliers with negotiated prices, terms and conditions
• Manage PO changes in JAGGAER and inform stakeholders as applicable
• Create “EasyRFQ” as required according to KA Purchasing Procedure
• Be the local interface towards the global category purchasing team
  • Forward the PR to Category Buyer if required according to KA Purchasing Procedure
• Create new (local) suppliers in the JAGGAER system
  • Create AADM Ticket for creation of completely new supplier in JAGGAER
  • Create JAGGAER Master data tickets for creation/extension of supplier in SAP
• Maintain supplier base information in Jaggaer system
  • Ensure supplier name, address etc. is maintained in the system
  • Update Supplier Contact email address – set the “Order confirmation” responsibility

5. Communication & Collaboration

• Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations.
• Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships.
• Close collaboration and alignment with all internal stakeholders regarding purchasing project and Sourcing activities.

6. Competence profile

• Min High School Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Accounting, Law or a related field preferably.
• Workable English.
• Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown.
• Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint and industry standard purchase order software platforms (SAP, Jagger).
• Ability to work well with a international and intercultural environment.
• Proactively contributes to the overall department and organization achievements.
