Main objectives

To support during quotation and development phases of new projects by liaising with major OEM’s and 1st tier suppliers on new projects to understand their electrical interface and specification requirements.

To be an active member of the new project introduction team being responsible for the electronic system engineering.

Work with internal or sub-contract electronics partner and software engineers / companies to ensure the timely introduction of new projects that achieve customer requirements, budget and timing. To assist the plant production quality and process engineering departments with electronics expertise and best practice.

Main responsibility

• Review and negotiate customer requirements.
• Work with CFT on CER phase with technical feasibility evaluation.
• Technical interface to customer for electronics, create and present technical presentations.
• Electronics documentation, including requirements specifications, design concepts, interface specifications and design review reports.
• Design that the electronics integrates with the complete system and that the mechatronics design is optimized and compliant with safety and security goals.
• Work with purchasing on PCBA manufacturing quotes.
• Manage and prioritize the electronics open issues.
• Manage the internal hardware and software engineers or development partner.
• Work with the project team to follow the New Product Introduction process.
• Proactively work with the production plant to ensure design for manufacture and quality.
• Work on the PCBA and System EOL test specifications.
• Review the EMC and ELP validation tests to satisfy customer environmental requirements.
• Realize cost saving opportunities.

Requirements (idealistic) 

Education:

• University degree, master or bachelor, more than 3 years for master or 5 years for bachelor in Electronics system design engineering or equivalent.

Experience and skills:

• Extensive experience of electronics system design, specification, integration and validation gained within a Tier 1 supplier.
• Knowledge of designing and testing for EMC.
• Practical electronics skills (Oscilloscope, soldering, building prototypes).
• Knowledge of Embedded software, hardware and quality assurance processes, ASPICE is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience of HW and SW design are highly preferred.
• Knowledge and experience of safety analysis (D-FMEA, FTA, DFA) are highly preferred.
• Team player with a strong drive and a positive attitude. 
• Ability to build and develop customer relationships.
• Committed, self-starting, and taking responsibility, high focus and interest to improve the day-to-day work.
• To be concise in written and verbal communication in English.
