1. General
a. Area of responsibility: Supplier Quality Development within assigned commodity
b. Direct Superior: Director Supplier Quality Corporate or
Manager Supplier Quality Development Regional
c. Location: Wuxi
2. Main Objectives
• To complete pro-active and escalated re-active quality assurance activities as dictated by the needs of the business:
• Pro Active :
o Evaluation and validation of potential new suppliers according to the Commodity strategies and Group procedures.
o Improvement of the Supply Base by performing annual process and / or system audits, including follow-up of the corresponding action plans.
o To monitor the performance of the supplier base to ensure that the quality goals for purchased material are understood externally and internally, and that the suppliers continuously improve their processes to meet these quality targets.
o On a monthly basis, to report activities and performance of the supplier base to allow the creation of the monthly reports.
o To update Global Vendor Portal together with the commodity buyers regarding Quality data (Q certifications, Q contacts, performance, audit results, …)
o Support buyers and RD in choice of supplier (early stages of project)
• Reactive :
o To support the plants and plant SQ Engineers in level 2 escalation cases if requested and to take lead for approved level 3 escalation cases
o To support the projects on escalated issues from project SQ Engineers.

3. Area of Responsibility
• To carry out system and/or process audits at the suppliers with reference to VDA 6.3 and additional requirements specific to the customer and the company and also with reference to latest version of ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
• Continual working to improve the Global Vendor Portal (Approved, On-Hold, To be Resourced) including all related Quality information (certifications, audit results, Quality contacts, etc…) for the assigned commodities
• To propose level 3 supplier escalations to Director Supplier Quality Corporate or the Manager Supplier Quality Development Regional with all relevant information allowing a decision to be taken.
• To solve problems and to monitor corrective measures on quality cases escalated from level 2 to level 3. All information regarding the concern shall be handed over from the responsible plant Supplier Quality Engineer.
• To report the status of level 3 supplier escalation issues to the functional and direct management frequently.
• To participate and support in Purchasing Sourcing Committee meetings
• To assure that the Supplier Quality Manual are approved and implemented by all suppliers. When needed negotiations with the Suppliers to be performed together with the Commodity Buyer.
• When necessary to perform other assignments in his/her sphere of qualifications and work.
• Any other tasks according to the Supplier Quality Department needs
4. Personal Tasks
• To report immediately to the direct and functional manager when major issues occur. (for instance: production line stop, customer disturbance, warranty issues, …)
• To analyze and arrange all information regarding quality and logistic issues in order to secure a good decision base.
• To propose continuous system improvements with regards to Supplier Quality.
• To drive continuous improvements throughout the assigned supplier base.
5. Main Challenges
• To develop and utilize effective measures to ensure continuous improvements.
• To develop systems and procedures to support the work of the purchasers, especially when sourcing new parts or selecting new suppliers.
• To work actively together with commodity buyers, R&D, project supplier quality and our suppliers to prevent future issues and misunderstandings.

7. Competence profile (ideal)
Education: Technical engineer.
Training in quality assurance, further training in measuring engineering, print interpretation, tolerances of form and position, GD&T
VDA 6.3 Certified Auditor
Auditor (certified auditor) for IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001
Practical experience: At least five years’ experience in manufacturing industry, preferably in production engineering or quality engineering.
Languages: Have a good command of written and spoken English. Further linguistic skills are considered an additional qualification.
Special requirements: Audit and supplier development skills in minimum one of the commodities such as: Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics, Injection Molding, Casting, Metal Stamping, Machining
Relevant quality tool and techniques (APQP, PPAP, Root Cause Analysis, 8D, PDCA-FTA, MSA, SPC, FMEA, PCP…etc...)
Good Excel skills (VBA, pivot tables, supplier scoreboard, KPI reporting, Vendor Portal reports, etc…)
Good SAP knowledge (QM11 module, vendor claim management, cost tracking per claim, etc…)
Computer skills including MS Office
High degree of personal integrity and confidence
Good conflict management skills
Facilitation skills with a high focus on solutions
Frequent travel as required
8. Authority
• To implement the supplier quality strategy and directions as defined by the Director Supplier Quality Corporate.
• To use customers’ specific supplier quality documents when automotive and/or group standards cannot apply.
• To represent KA end customer in front of the suppliers and drive necessary actions to protect the customers.
• To monitor, develop current and newly selected suppliers and their processes after having performed an audit.
• Based on facts, to influence supplier’s status from A, CA to NBH, and vice-versa when level 3 escalation action plans have been completed.
• After being NBH, and when level 3 action plans have not been successfully implemented, to supporte suppliers exit, through the Director Supplier Quality Corporate´s approval
• To act independently within the scope of the current rules of the company (SQM, CoC, …).
