  1. Main objectives

Validation Manager is responsible for the team’s ability to understand validation setup and procedure, delivering test report and proposal to the projects (POI, NPI, PIP, Annual test, Design validation and Development validation). The Manager is responsible to coach and mentor the subordinates in their daily work, securing the knowledge growth in the team regarding technical expertise, processes and working tools. Enhance the area development to meet customers’ (national) certification requirements.

  1. Main responsibility
  • Secure that working tools and processes are used and developed to support delivering correct quality from the team.
  • Secure, maintain and facilitate the KBD-NPI process of documentation to be uploaded in PLM structure of Global validation Structure
  • Follow global work structure and documentation. (workload and equipment planning, validation plans)
  • Create a spending log on consumables and follow budget
  • New Approval process - reports shall be released by first line managers. Approval 1/Technical checks conducted by seniors and KO’s.
  • Satisfy requirements of KBD-NPI process and to be the head responsible in your team to maintain and verify that all parts are confirmed with measurement reports and build list prior to start of Validation.
  • Weekly update of workload planning sheet including tasks, resource allocation and equipment booking
  • Secure validation certifications from all customers.
  • Secure test equipment calibrated in time.
  • Ensure that the capacity exists and establish plans for how to solve decided assignments and activities.
  • Secure that agreed processes and working tools are used and evolved.
  • Identify improvements in work methods.
  • Secure the correct resources in the team to be able to deliver with high efficiency and a cost effective work in the team.
  • Secure the correct validation knowledge and competence in the team.
  • Customize the team to meet the changing requests.
  • Manage approved recruitments and hiring of contractors.
  • Plan, accomplish and follow up personal development discussion.
  • Delegate tasks within the team.
  • Handle the personnel administration in the team, such as time report, vacation planning, and participate in salary reviews.
  • Coach and mentor the team members in their personal development.
  • Monitor the need, plan and follow up trainings.
  • Escalate test lab issues to local department manager.
  • Secure a quick response to validation request, test cost request, resource plan request.
  • Secure outstanding 5S and safety goal.
  •    Follow given budget of investments and operating expenditures
  •    Good control on test lab expenses on equipment, daily consumers and investment.
  •    Maximize utilization on current equipment and investment to be modular and flexible to support coming projects and products within the Driveline product portfolio.

5.       Requirements (idealistic)

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering, or equivalent.
  • Documented qualities of leadership.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience within RD in Automotive industrial, include 5 years’ experience within test lab management.
  • Passionate, Accountable and Prepared
  • Fluent knowledge in English, spoken and written.
  • Good knowledge of test method, test center certification and IATF16949 and CNAS Certificate knowledge
  • Good general skills in handling computers using typical office tools.
  • Personal qualities appropriate for leading other people; analytic, structured, pro-active, enterprising, target focused, determined, and able to lead and inspire people.
