Then join our team in Suffield CT, as a Operational Excellence Champion where you will develop, train, implement, maintain and improve processes and systems related to KAs Operational Excellence program. To coordinate and drive continuous improvement throughout the operational facility.
Responsibilities
Support/Coach/Implement Operational Excellence in-line with the plants Op Ex Roadmap. Oversee, manage and facilitate improvements within the Operational Facility and functions to improve efficiency, streamline processes and reduce costs within the business.
• Support effective and consistent Policy Deployment by cascading Corporate and Business Area objectives within the site.
• Coach leadership (at all levels) within the operational facility focused on delivering business results and building competency in Continuous Improvement methods.
• Provide leadership/mentoring/training to all levels within the operational facility on the use and practice of C.I. methodology and tools (e.g. 5S, visual controls, standardized work, VSM & A3, Heijunka, Jidoka, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc…); facilitate large-scale, cross-functional kaizen events.
• Focus on business performance that constantly strives to eliminate waste, improve customer satisfaction, and increase market share via the use of Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Facilitate and drive change in a fast paced and “ever changing” environment leveraging his/her strong interpersonal skills. Act as a key driver of change within the facility, supporting management/cross functional decisions by communicating the enterprise-wide changes to employees, helping them to learn, understand, adjust and grow with the business’s transformation.
• Drive C.I. for selected model new product introductions.
• Develop appropriate dashboards & influence cross functional team members to meet aggressive Op Ex Programmes and Business Targets.
• Mentor Engineering and Manufacturing Project Leaders and cross functional Team members; develop common understanding of relevant concepts & available tools. Drive consistency across Products & Programs.
• Drive effective on-going communications throughout the facility on the implementation of C.I. thinking to help drive culture change and advance C.I. competencies; provide clear and regular communication on the facilities goals and objectives of C.I. thinking and provide a system for measurement of results of C.I. activities on an ongoing basis.
• Work with all elements of the business to integrate Op Ex, to include engineering, new product development, supply chain, inventory management, and production control
Requirements
Education: To degree level and or with relevant practical experience.
Practical experience and skills: A minimum of 3 years’ experience within C.I.
Knowledge of VAVE/Lean/Six Sigma
Special requirements: Reporting and Presentation
Relevant Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques (DoE, DMAIC, root cause analysis etc...)
Computer skills including MS Office
High degree of personal integrity and confidence
Good conflict management skills
Facilitation skills with a high focus on solutions
