Validation Test Lab Technician

About the position

Kongsberg Automotive is seeking a Technician to join our team in our Novi Technical Center. The Technician will perform validation testing on internal and external products while coordinating with Engineering to resolve issues regarding test methods, implementations and results. To be successful, the Technician must thoroughly and accurately execute test specifications and display good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement physical test measurements in accordance with a test plan and test specifications.
• Review project instructions, drawings, test specifications, procedures, and objectives to determine test equipment necessary to complete test project. Review findings with Test Engineer and Lab Manager.
• Set up test fixtures. Fabricate environmental chambers. Program environment controls and utilize computer data acquisition equipment. Review setup with Test Engineer and Lab Manager.
• Perform sample management including tagging, tracking, monitoring, and reporting.
• Verify test equipment is working correctly throughout testing.
• Produce consistent and reliable test results.
• Collect test data and maintain test logs.
• Execution and reporting of test tasks throughout the test series within the project, including oral and written presentation of test results.
• Provide support for design engineering, project management, marketing, and external customers regarding test methods and test results.
• Author and update documentation of test methods and procedures.
• Prepare and issue accurate and detailed test reports.
• Perform validation testing in compliance with the IATF 16949 quality system.

Requirements

• Education: Associate’s Degree and 2+ years’ experience 
• Basic knowledge in measurement technology, mechanics, and electronics.
• Knowledge of the development process and test methods.
• Skilled in the use of MS Word and Excel
