About the position

Kongsberg Automotive is seeking an experienced Sr. Benefit & Compensation Specialist to join our HR Shared Services team in Novi, MI. You will analyze and recommend robust and competitive benefits and compensation programs for our North American operations. The right candidate will demonstrate high energy, high empathy, and enjoy solution-oriented problem solving. Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of HR, Corporate Compensation & Benefits and our Broker to maintain competitive, robust benefits and compensation programs for North America
  • Be the subject matter expert for US employee benefit questions. Provide exceptional, timely, customer service and accurate resolutions to questions or concerns. 
  • Manage the administration of health and welfare plans and COBRA for US sites: including qualifying life events, open enrollment and terminations in ADP.
  • Fulfill all reporting requirements of all relevant government/state rules and regulations, including the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), 5500 filings, IRS and DOL filings ACA reporting and year-end compliance.
  • Collaborate with Managers and HR to ensure detailed job descriptions and classification/grading exists for all positions.
  • Manage relationships with vendors including benefit brokers and service administrators, relating to quality, service agreements, costs/billings, reporting, audit and controls.
  • Oversee Leaves of Absence administration:  STD/LTD, FMLA, Non-FMLA, Military, & Worker’s Compensation.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommend changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and align with corporate objectives.
  • Participate in external surveys to ensure competitiveness of benefits/compensation plans.

Requirements

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of all applicable benefits/compensation laws and regulations
  • Strong analytical skills, detail oriented and ability to interpret and communicate data
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Flexibility and adaptability to rapidly changing business situations and circumstances
  • Excellent communicator skills with strong interpersonal skills, empathetic listener, with ability to make strong data driven decisions
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to review, analyze, and interpret data

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources, finance, or related field 

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in designing US benefit programs and North America compensation plans

  • Must be proficient in ADP (Workforce Now) 

  • Working knowledge in Success Factors (preferred)

  • Extensive knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to base compensation and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations

  • Knowledge of job evaluation & job analysis systems
