Sales Engineer

About the position

  • The Sales Engineer is specifically responsible for developing sales and new business strategies aligned to our PTFE product portfolio and will strive to achieve revenue growth in line with agreed forecasts and targets.
  • Focussing on a wide geographical area across the UK, EU & ROW, the Sales Engineer will actively manage a variety of existing customer accounts to ensure first class customer satisfaction and increased revenues, whilst identifying new customer leads and successfully converting business and revenue through a strong understanding of their engineering requirements.

Responsibilities

  •     Perform proactive customer visits, both with existing customers and potential new strategic accounts.
  •     Make an immediate impact on our business by closing new sales at both existing and new customers
  •     Sales planning and forecasting activities and set target goals accordingly for the respective accounts.
  •     Maintain and improve a level of customer intimacy and develop strong customer relationships.
  •     Actively report to the Sales Manager successes, areas for improvement, accounts at risk with corrective actions, evaluation of new leads and future customer visits.
  •     Drive for results internally and externally by communicating with customers and UK plant team to secure the best results.
  •     Review served markets to determine and clarify the customer needs and expectations, market pricing, technology advancements, competitor activities or opportunities and report back within the group.
  •     Develop strong customer relationships and have ability in negotiating and closing deals.
  •     Deliver Sales presentations to key customers’ engineering, purchasing and management groups.
  •     Maintain monthly sales and business growth reports identifying business opportunities and areas of focus for product development.
  •     Familiarity with the customer’s requirements both general and product specific, backed up with the technical knowledge to give sound guidance and product advice.
  •     To represent the Kongsberg Automotive Sales organization both inside and outside the company.
  •     The role requires working time to be spent travelling to UK, EU & row customers, regular attendance in the UK office is also required.

Requirements

  •     Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Technical sales.
  •     Ability in negotiating and closing deals.
  •     Fast paced customer focused attitude.
  •     Confidence to work alone whist contributing to a multifunctional team.
  •     Ability to make quick decisions based on a combination of experience as well as taking advice.
  •     High IT Literacy - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS, Power BI.
  •     Ability to visit customers in selected markets for 70% of working week (UK, EU & ROW).
  •     Ability to produce good quality reports, data, and relevant presentations.
  •     Ability to organise and prioritise time to deliver required goals to strict deadlines.
  •     Clean driving license and competence for oversees driving

Requirements desirable:

  •     BSc or BA degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  •     German, Spanish, or multilingual language skills.
  •     Knowledge and competence to manage business operations and customer relations through SAP.

What we offer

We offer a competitive salary package for the right candidate, along with condensed working of full time hours across 4.5 days with Friday afternoon 1PM finish, 25 days holiday entitlement plus bank holidays, 5% company matched pension contribution and life assurance benefit.  The role requires significant working time to be spent travelling to visit customers, and although regular attendance in the office is also required and must be flexible in line with the needs of the sales function, some opportunity may be available to work remotely.
