About the position

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) & Quality Systems Lead to join our team at Kongsberg Automotive. This role is pivotal in driving a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with environmental and quality standards, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across the site. The successful candidate will act as a key partner to leadership, employees, and external stakeholders, ensuring our operations are safe, compliant, and efficient.

Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)


•    Lead and manage the site HSE system in line with company and group policies.
•    Investigate incidents, update risk assessments, and implement corrective actions.
•    Oversee PPE provision, safety signage, and contractor compliance.
•    Ensure compliance with environmental and safety legislation.
•    Maintain and manage ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
•    Manage waste disposal, hazardous materials storage, and environmental impact reduction initiatives.
•    Deliver HSE training and foster a safety-first culture across the site.

 

Quality Systems & Audits


•    Manage creation, updating, and control of quality system documentation.
•    Prepare for and support ISO / IATF certification audits.
•    Conduct internal system audits and track corrective actions to closure.
•    Ensure documentation is 100% up to date via the KA intranet portal.
•    Prepare and co-lead management review processes, including KPI analysis and improvement plans.

 

Continuous Improvement & Communication


•    Monitor HSE and quality performance indicators, driving action plans to achieve targets.
•    Communicate HSE and quality priorities clearly to employees and stakeholders.
•    Support new employee onboarding and deliver relevant training modules.
•    Stay updated with regulatory changes, industry trends, and best practices.

Requirements

Work Experience

Required:
•    Proven experience in the HSE field within an production environment.
•    Strong understanding of workplace hazards, risks, and safety practices.
•    Knowledge of HSE regulations (internal, external, and organizational).
•    Knowledge of ergonomics.

Desirable:
•    Experience as an internal or lead auditor.
•    Worked in the automotive industry

Education / Certification

Required:
•    NEBOSH accreditation or equivalent HSE qualification.
•    Trained internal auditor / lead auditor certification.

Job & IT-Specific Knowledge

Required:
•    Knowledge of ISO IATF 16949 (or ISO 9001) and quality system maintenance.
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
•    Experience with SAP-PLM tools (advantageous).
•    Knowledge and practice of process auditing; familiarity with AIAG core tools is a plus.
•    Ability to interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Soft Skills & Abilities

Required:
•    Strong communication skills.
•    Rigor, reliability, and tenacity.

Languages

Required:
•    English (fluent).
