Materials Controller

About the position
We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join the team in Normanton as a Materials Controller. We are looking for a forward thinking individual who thrives working in a fact paced environment and wants to develop their career in the supply chain. In this role you will be responsible for the efficient planning of raw materials in line with company scheduled requirements, accuracy of inventory data and supplier performance management.
Responsibilities
• Effectively manage scheduling and order coverage for all suppliers
• Manage inbound delivery/collections from suppliers in line with due dates.
• Expedite materials to due dates and manage suppliers to OTIF to mitigate risk to production.
• Manage supplier delivery risk and escalation.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure that planning parameters are aligned.
• Work with Purchasing to ensure all material min/max stock levels and MOQ’s are correct against actual demand.
• Ensuring MRP data is accurate.
• Maintain inventory system data and ensure that discrepancies are investigated.
• Working cross functionally to manage new product introductions and timely introductions of new materials.
• Reviewing invoices for accuracy and timely clearance
• liaising with intercompany and planning teams for any discrepancies or quality issues
• Support and suggest the effective management of inward & outward flow of inventory.
• Ensure all aspects of the Dangerous Goods Act are fulfilled.
• You will be required to ensure that good housekeeping and health and safety regulations are adhered to within the work area.
• To contribute, be involved in and actively support the continuous improvement process within the department.
• Prepare reports on inventory and costs for internal use by Company Managements
Requirements
• Ability to build strong working relationships
• Previous experience in a Material Control/Material Planner/ Supply Chain Planner role.
• Team working skills across disciplines and departments.
• Good analytical skills
• Functions skills in Maths and English as a minimum
• Supply chain or Logistics qualification
• Computer Literate
• Good working knowledge of SAP
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel
• An understanding of lean manufacturing principles
• Pro-active nature, willing to learn quickly and take new challenges.
• Attention to detail.
• Good Interpersonal and communication skills
• Great Organisational Skills
