Plant Manager

About the position

The job requires an experienced leader eager to be challenged and excited to contribute to Kongsberg Automotives success. You will be the Plant Manager in Hvittingfoss, where we produce parts for some of the leading car companies in the world. With over 150 employees at the factory, as well as strong ties to the global Kongsberg Automotive community with over 5000 colleagues.

Responsibilities

• You will initiate and drive strategic initiatives to deliver cost improvement plans, mitigate financial risk and perform excellence on operational activities. We want better quality, manufacturing efficiency, best in class capital investment installation and a focus on driving cost out of the business.

• You will set the goals and objectives and make them reality. Help us maintain and develop our position as a key supplier for the automotive industry. You will be challenged and highly visible. This role is extremely important and will report to Vice President Quality & HSE/ Vice President Operations P&C. 

• You will lead and develop a strong team of multifunctional heads, including quality, maintenance, process engineering, production and supply chain.

• You will establish good communication, teamwork and synergy with internal peers at product engineering, sales and marketing, purchasing, as well as with external contacts at suppliers and customers. You will play a key role in the global manufacturing footprint development of the company, as plant manager of the lead plant of the Business Unit.

Qualifications and experience:

•  Successful leadership experience in manufacturing within global automotive context is preferred. 
•  Experience from automated assembly, machining and injection molding is a merit.
•  Efficient, proactive and a hands-on approach.
•  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•  Experience from driving change and building strong successful teams.
•  University degree in relevant field.
•  Business fluent in English and Norwegian written and spoken.
•  Understanding of Automotive industry standards & certification.
