About the position

Kongsberg Automotive, department Hvittingfoss, seeks talented and enthusiastic people who want to be involved in producing components for tomorrow's vehicles. We offer a strong corporate culture with a focus on innovation, teamwork and effective manufacturing processes.

We are now looking for a Production Planner with a good understanding of the subject and who have a wish of maintaining overall outputs to maximize Customer on time delivery.

  • Maintain existing master data for existing materials and plan according to the business for the factory
  • Work with the Material and Customer Planning teams when a material shortage is identified to ensure the issue is resolved quickly with minimum impact to the factory.
  • Working with other teams and departments to implement the phasing in and out of new/old materials as part of a controlled process (achieving agreed deadlines with minimum cost).
  • Highlight serious production issues and work with the management team to resolve issues quickly and with minimal impact to the business.
  • Day to day communication by telephone, email and other communication methods with defined internal teams and customers
  • Effective management of inventory (improvement of working capital) using pre-defined tools – i.e. Consignment Stock, Kanban, VMI etc
  • Relevant Bachelor-or Master degree, but relevant experience will be considered 
  • Understanding of a material requirement pegging / planning system (MRP).
  • A high attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize with an appreciation of the meaning of “urgency”.
  • Experience of procurement, dealing with direct material into manufacturing operations.
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Language skills; English fluent and a Scandinaian language
  • Good business understanding
  • Experience from the Automotive industry will be an advantage.

  • Adaptable, tolerant of pressure and willing to learn
