About the position

Kongsberg Automotive, department Hvittingfoss, is seeking talented and enthusiastic people who are interested in being involved in producing components for the vehicles of the future. We offer a strong corporate culture with focus on innovation, teamwork and effective manufacturing processes.
Our Process Engineering department is searching for a Machining expert to develop new and improve existing manufacturing processes in order to achieve optimal efficiency, minimum lead time and zero defects

Responsibilities

  • As part of a Process engineering team, plan, develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products.
  • Optimize existing manufacturing processes and implement improvements in production.
  • Support running production in problem solving and implementing technical solutions.

Task

  • Perform investment analysis of new machines and equipment as well as product cost calculations
  • Create/ update instructions and routines for manufacturing processes
  • Start-up new production lines/ cells and support daily production
  • Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and specifications for the purchasing of machinery, equipment and tooling and support the approval of such
  • Support the production of initial samples and prototypes
  • Continues improvements of machining processes

Competence Requirements (ideally)

  • Bachelor of Science; mechanical engineering or similar education
  • 3 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering within similar industry with mass production
  • Knowledge of CNC controller 
  • Cutting tool knowledge for steel machining
  • Driver’s license class B (no public transportation to the plant)
