Lean Champion

About the position

Kongsberg Automotive, department Hvittingfoss, seeks talented and enthusiastic people who want to be involved in producing components for tomorrow's vehicles. We are now looking for a Lean Champion to develop the overall lean six sigma strategy and implementation plans across the plant.  You will lead the Lean process and help our organization to become even more competitive and optimizing resource efficiency. You will work closely with our production managers and their teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop the strategic plan for lean six sigma implementation.
• Establish clear measurable objectives within the operations to follow up  on these thereby ensuring that the objectives are met.
• The annual budget and overall objectives are the main targets. Deviation from the plan shall be analysed and corrective actions are to be initiated and implemented without delay.
• Develop an efficient and skilled lean six sigma focused organisation with trained facilitators in close cooperation with the production management.
•  Manage lean six sigma projects in the plant
• Support process engineers/lean six sigma facilitators in their daily work.
• Manage continue improvements in the plant
• Provide needed oversight and training in the area of lean philosophy, tools and techniques and continuous improvement practices.
• Responsible to ensure that lean six sigma tools and group procedures are fully implemented and well-known within the organization.

Requirements

Education

• Engineering degree from the university, MSc / BSc degree
• Combination of production and/or engineering
• Business oriented

Experience & skills

• A minimum of three years of experience from the automotive industry. More than two years’ experience from implementing lean principles and continuous improvement tools
• Management profile and high degree of personal integrity and confidence.
• Ability to make quick decisions based on experience and analysis as well as advice from other people or colleagues. Cooperative and business oriented
• Fluency in spoken and written English and preferable oral command in minimum one other language in addition to mother tongue.
