About the position

The successful candidate of this position is responsible to develop, maintain, and execute the long-term profitable revenue growth plans for the P&C Driveline business unit with global OEMs and Tier 1 in the DACH area.

The main task is to increase the regional footprint of Kongsberg Automotive in the German Automotive passenger car market. This includes to take over existing accounts and, above all, the acquisition of new customers. To excel in this role, the desired person should be an active listener, have a compelling sales personality, and a hunger to chase and close new business from cold calls and inbound warm leads as well as establishing solid business relationship with key decision makers in the Automotive industry.

This also includes effective marketing and selling of products, as well as the overall business relationship management of the KA EU and Automotive network.

The position is based in Hallbergmoos (close to Munich, Germany)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow the passenger car (DRL) business in DACH
  • Identify, assess potential and contact potential customers to establish a business relationship, rapport and arrange meetings
  • Identify new customers for KA PAC products and technology within DACH market, establishing contacts and pursuing new business opportunities to support KA PAC growth objectives 
  • Establish account plans and customer roadmaps
  • Establish marketing / communications plans related to allocated area in customers in DACH
  • Maintain the overall business relationship management of the KA EU and Automotive network
  • Establish and maintain a solid business relationship with key decision makers in the Automotive industry
  • Lead customer quoting and negotiation activities together with the support of internal department till the business nomination
  • Target and secure new business wins to support the KA PAC strategic plan (STP)
  • Sales funnel management
  • Establish win strategies for key business targets establishing pricing objectives, key values and KA Unique Selling Points (USPs) ensuring that the commercial proposal satisfies KA fiscal objectives
  • Develop and lead the presentation of KA communications to the customer in the local region
  • Establish and maintain a network to manage commercial, technical, quality and delivery issues between KA and the customer
  • Manage new opportunity introduction through Business Event, and once approved lead the Define & Quote Phase of the KBD-NPI process (defined Sales activities)

Requirements

  • Relevant Automotive experience in a commercial role interfacing with major global passenger car OEMs
  • Business development and successful business relation management experience in the DACH area
  • In depth knowledge and experience of dealing with major German Automotive OEMs and/or Tier 1 customers
  • Ability to open doors and establish a business relationship with new customers
  • Ability to manage and influence cross functional customer teams
  • Entrepreneurial, results-oriented professional who has demonstrated success in building business where product development and marketing provide unique growth opportunities in the marketplace
  • Significant experience in providing business commercial strategy direction in a highly competitive environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)
  • Superb negotiator
  • Structured thinker and problem solver
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Strong communication skills in German and IT fluency
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty
