Quality Engineer

About the position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join an established team at Kongsberg Automotive. This position involves close collaboration with colleagues and customers across Europe so if you are self motivated, with a background in Automotive Quality Engineering and enjoy supporting and working closely with people across the globe, this may be the position for you.

Responsibilities

The right candidate will participate in APQP along with a multidisciplinary team to ensure compliance with the quality requirements of the parts we supply to our customers, achieving production processes that are more consistent in quality. Will also make the analysis of the production process for the implementation of improvements that ensure product quality and minimize the impact of non-quality and will also solveexternal and internal non-conformities with a multidisciplinary team to avoid recurrence as well as extrapolation of lessons learned.

Other key responsibilities include:

- Definition of control system to ensure compliance with product quality requirements, as well as ensure its monitoring in the plant.
- Document procedures, instructions and control plans associated with the processes and manufactured products.
- Do the daily monitoring of the scrap in the assigned area and develop action plans for its reduction together with a multidisciplinary team.
- Train and educate operators in any aspect related to the quality of the process/product.
- Perform audits of plant processes and manufactured products.
- Follow-up of the findings of first level audits and definition of actions to avoid recurrence.
- Manage external and internal claims: determine the necessary containment actions, analysis of causes, establishment of corrective and preventive actions, ensuring that these are effective to avoid recurrence.
- Monitor the results of containment activities in the production area, as well as the definition of actions to minimize the impact of non-quality.
- Provide quality suppliers with information regarding non-conformities of suppliers detected in their area.
- Approval of new products (PPAP).
- Understand applicable customer specific requirements and apply them in your area of responsibility.
- Definition of lessons learned, communication and standardization in similar processes.
 

Requirements

If you have strong organisation and time management skills and feel that you have a systematic and positive approach to dealing with issues this may be the right position for you.

To be successful in the role you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma.
  • From 2 to 5 years of previous experience in quality departments.
  • High level of English, spoken and written.
  • Core Tools Knowledge (PPAP, AMFE, SPC, MSA, APQP).
  • Knowledge in problem solving tools (8D, 5Why, Ishikawa, FTA...).
  • Training in standards ISO 9001:2015  and IATF 16949:2016.
  • Knowledge in system auditors according to IATF16949:2016 and process (VDA 6.3).
  • Power Office user (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Desirable ERP's experience (SAP, Navision, etc).
