We are looking for a Product and Portfolio Manager (f/m/d). The position is based in Dortmund (Germany).

Responsibilities

  • Define & implement growth strategy based on market, customer, competitive knowledge and make decisions to both grow business and improve margins
  • Review product portfolio regularly and make decisions to both grow business and improve margin
  • Collaborate with other Product Manager to form unique solutions where sensors will be integrated into existing and new products of our portfolio.
  • Working closely together with Sales to lead and coordinate customer requirements on a global basis
  • Preparation of roadmap and product strategy, gap analysis, make-or-buy decision, and product placement
  • Define solutions for specific applications & segments
  • Identify relevant trends, technologies, and market evolutions
  • Development of customer-specific recommendations for the optimization of the product range and subsequent coordination with the key account sales and production departments
  • Technology development / innovation, network with suppliers / customers, coordination with pre-development regarding new technologies; Initiating benchmarks
  • Report frequently to top management and portfolio stakeholders
  • Product-specific calculations for profitability (CER) and cost-breakdown sheets for negotiating with customers
  • Work to strengthen and create new linkages with strategic partner’s e.g., joint ventures, distributors, and key suppliers
  • Overlook profitability and initiate improvements needed by working with functional areas and senior management. Report regularly on the progress toward key strategic product targets
  • Search for result deviations / triggering events, such as EOP, weak results, initiation of measures, e.g. price increases and/or design-to-cost measures
  • Define & implement growth strategy based on market, customer, and competitive knowledge

Requirements

  • Technical Bachelor or Master degree (or comparable education)
  • Business Engineering preferred
  • Good intercultural understanding as well as a willingness to travel frequently
  • Entrepreneurial, results-orientated
  • Promotes independent thinking and recognition in a team environment
  • Leadership
  • Able to travel worldwide and be effective in a variety of business cultures
  • Strong intellect with instinctive business skills
  • Calculated risk taker, with high degree of pride and achievement


You like the mixture of a strong strategic thinking with a global perspective and at the same time looking to new innovative ideas. You are a result-driven person that can manage complexity as well as drive engagement to define and implement the growth strategy for your product portfolio. You like to follow trends within the market and future topics like sensor fusion or virtual sensors sound interesting to you. You like to think out of the box and you have the skills to evaluate your ideas at customers.
