For our location in Dortmund we are looking for an enthusiastic Product Cost Calculator (f/m/d) to carry out costing for production/products and their assemblies and individual parts, as well as preparing quotation, project and production calculation.
Introduction of Design-to-Cost (DtC) measures, setting cost targets and managing supplier workshops within product costing, within the framework of existing internal guidelines will be a main task.
Responsibilities
- Preparing quotation calculations as the basis for cost-oriented quotations for the organizational units
- Carrying out a project profitability calculation defining and specifying targets for development, material, production costs for product-specific and universal operating equipment or operating equipment design
- Determining price recommendations and project key figures for superior organizational units
- Preparing project-related calculations (product life cycle) for new or changed designs in project development, involving the necessary organizational units, introduction, processing and evaluation of process investigations, as well as introducing Design-to-Cost (DtC) measures
- Drawing up decision criteria for the assignment of operating equipment production
- Advising and supporting the organizational units responsible regarding the design of new devices and individual parts
- Suggesting suitable measures for achieving prescribed internal and external cost targets or cost reductions before and after SOP, as well as following up the measures introduced
- Preparing quotation calculations
- Drafting and preparing documents for price negotiations to be carried out with Sales or customers
- Carrying out presentations of calculation results and analysis
- Determining target specifications for purchased parts/components and managing price negotiations with suppliers
- Supporting and advising project managers in economic matters
Requirements
- Masters degree in business & engineering or equivalent
- Relevant experience in related positions ideally in the automotive environment
- Confidence to work through all hierarchies and in cross-functional teams
- Expert knowledge in Excel and cost calculation tools
- Project Management experience
- Fluency in English language
