Customer Service Specialist

About the position

At Kongsberg-FTS Suffield, customer service goes well beyond being a voice on the phone. The Customer Service Specialist is the primary day-to-day interface between Kongsberg Automotive-FTS Suffield and our customers and is an integral part of our success. This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, acting as the point of contact between the Customer, Sales, and Suffield plant operations.  As the “voice of Kongsberg”, the person in this role will be a subject-matter expert (technical, commercial and delivery/logistics) on Kongsberg Automotive FTS products, providing technical support, price quotes, and customer order feedback to customers via telephone and email correspondence. 

Responsibilities
  • Main Point of contact for Kongsberg-FTS Industrial customers
  • Answer customer correspondence (telephonic and email) in a timely and professional manner
  • Manage and maintain orders received via electronic data interchange (EDI)
  • Promote new and existing business through quoting prices and delivery lead times according to the approved pricing guidelines and analysing current stock levels
  • Provide timely feedback to customers if lead times or delivery times are adjusted
  • Interact closely with production, shipping, and materials management to meet customer needs
  • Through understanding our customer base and asking the right questions, extract information to understand exactly what our customers’ needs are and communicate internally and externally as appropriate to ensure the customers’ expectations are me
  • Introduce new sales orders from the previous day at the daily sales meetings for decisions regarding production capacity, materials requirements, lead times, and more
  • Orders may be received via email, telephone, mail, and Fax
  • Accurately input orders into the computer system.
  • Issue return material authorizations when requests are received from customers.
  • Backup and/or complement for other customer service representatives
  • Perform other duties as directed by management
Requirements
  • College degree preferred, but not required
  • 1-3 years of inside sales, account management, or other customer service experience
  • Demonstrated ability to represent Kongsberg in a positive and professional manner
  • Automotive Manufacturing, Materials Planning, Materials Coordinator or similar experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Ability to learn complex and vast product line in order to become the subject-matter expert
  • Excellent time management, organizational and analytical skills
  • Results driven
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; superb follow-up skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
