  1. Main Purpose of Role
  • Overall management of the Shanghai Kongsberg Automotive DongFeng Morse. Co. Ltd (SKADFM) business with full P&L responsibility, including Operations, local engineering and program management, sales & marketing and business development activities.
  • Providing leadership to SKADFM to meet the business objectives of P&C China strategy.
  • Maximising the full potential of resources available
  • Report and updates Board of Directors of J/V and fulfil obligations as according to J/V contract

 

 

  1. Main Duties
  • Develop and implement local strategic plans, with cooperation of the local management team; set operational targets and budgets that support the P&C Strategic Planning (STP), priorities and policy deployment.
  • Ensure that business objectives and targets are clearly communicated to the local organisation.
  • Building relationships with key strategic customers. Support of the marketing organisation with regard to deliveries, quality performance, logistics, visits and personal contacts
  • Ensuring full integration of KA Standards, and working practices into SKADFM, including the One KA Factory.
  • Carry out all duties and responsibilities as outlined in the SKADFM J/V contracts and agreements.
  • Facilitating the Knowledge Based Development (KBD) New Product Implementation (NPI) process and product development for the Chinese and Global customer base.
  • To develop an efficient and skilled organisation with a clear assignment of responsibilities and duties. To secure optimal usage of own resources.
  • To ensure observance of the quality management systems accordance with ISO/TS-16949 and ISO-14001, through clearly defined assignments of responsibility and duties towards other managers within the operational unit.
  • Formulate and install standard manufacturing practices based on comparative studies of methods, costs and production figures. Implementation of Lean practices.
  • Ensure the operational unit conforms to local and national governmental regulations and those set by Kongsberg Automotive. Also ensuring full compliance with SKADFM Code of Conduct in all areas and departments.
  • To ensure observance and conformity to all health & safety policies and regulations, and develop a Health & Safety focused working environment.
  • To fulfil all legal obligations required as the local MD.

  • To put forward proposals for strategic amendments connected with organisation, products, equipment which will safeguard the competitive position of the plant.
  • To utilise the human resource potential within the organisation and ensure it is adequate for the attainment of operational objectives.
  • To make an unbiased analysis of the strong and weak points of the local organisation as well as of external threats and opportunities on the basis of knowledge of the future requirements of the customers and the expected future position of competitors.
  • To report in accordance with normal reporting routines but also to report on events and situations for which no reporting routine exist.
  • To continuously optimise the production process by initiating cost-saving activities (EBIT Improvement plan) based on internal and external expectations to contribute towards increasing the competitiveness of the products.

  • Maintain the sales and profit at operations in line with budget and rolling forecast and STP.
  • Meet or beat ROCE/ NWC targets.
  • Effective management of inventory and reduction plans
  • Set up production and sales planning to enable level loading of factory manufacturing
  • Champion Strategic development
  • Champion the development of the Lean culture for complete site adherence
  • Meet all objectives related to the Scorecard established for the operational unit.

 

 

  1. Competence Profile

 

Skills, Knowledge, Experience

 

Required:

  • Fluent in Chinese and Level 6 English
  • Educated to Degree level, ideally MBA. Preferred areas Business Management, Economics, Technology / Engineering,
  • Operational experience, ideally gained within KA with broad understanding of KA processes.
  • Negotiation and excellent communication skills
  • Experience in building relationships at all levels; management, employees, suppliers, customers.
  • Knowledge of Financials, and financial reporting beyond balance sheet and P&L
  • Proven leadership skills; ability to develop effective teams.
  • Proven track record in a management role, with people responsibility, in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in Lean manufacturing principles
