Process Engineer

1. General description

Area of responsibility:         Kongsberg Wuxi
Superior:                            Process/Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor

      Locations:                          Wuxi, China

      Subordinates:                      NA

2. Main objectives

To plan, to initiate and to improve methods in new and existing production.

3. Main responsibility

The production engineer is responsible for the following matters.

• Continuously to update basic production data.
• Together with the team leader to set up measurable objectives for rationalization work. 
• Investment analyses when purchasing new equipment.
• To contribute towards the continuous development and improvement of production with regard to process, quality, working environment and efficiency.
• Introduce new project, new mould regulation and set up instruction for the production;
• Improve and optimise the process;
• Compile and update work instruction, process card, PPAP, PFMEA, Control plan and other jobs.
• On site quality control; control the non-conformity product; participate to analysis and solve customer/internal claim, etc.
• Other tasks that superior assigns.

The personal tasks of the production engineer consist of the following matters but are not limited to them.

• Rationalization and optimization of production.
• To draft product estimates.
• To draft instructions regarding work, inspection and packaging.

• To draft work procedures for the quality manual.

• Investment analyses when purchasing new machinery and tooling.
• To participate in production preparation.
• To collect process time (time studies).
• To exercise time studies and analyses processes

5.       Requirements (idealistic)

• Education/ Knowledge:              

                                                 College/ University degree, Major in Engineering will be preferred.

Control plan / FMEA involved

Problems solving skills with 8D / PDCA / 5W / 5C etc.

• Practical experience                                                                   

                                                              Experience of production engineering and automation is preferred.

                                                        Operational skills in production and quality matters.

                                                        A high degree of personal integrity and confidence.

                                                        The ability to make quick decisions based on a combination
         of experience and analysis as well as advice from other
         people.

• Skills requirements:                 

English : Ability to communicate in both oral & written is preferred.

Logical thinking and skillful communication

Strict & fast execution for established goals is essential

Stick to quality mentality and no compromise to challenges
