Supplier Quality Engineer

About the position

KA is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer to join our innovative team. This role will be the driving force behind ensuring our suppliers meet the highest quality standards, supporting our commitment to excellence in manufacturing and supply chain management. It will optimize quality systems, streamline processes, and foster strong supplier relationships to deliver superior products that meet industry and regulatory requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence quality assurance practices across multiple projects and contribute to the success of a forward-thinking organization.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and directs activities to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards and support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Responsible for managing plant tasks from start to finish until the customer approves. Ensures preparation, reduces risks, and successfully launches (e.g., process checks, sample approvals, and final run tests).
  • Design sampling procedures, forms, and instructions to record, verify, and share quality and reliability results.
  • Establish direct communication with customers to fully understand their specific requirements.
  • Maintains documentation and data from quality assurance activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Reports on issues or changes identified during quality checks and recommends improvements
  • Promotes quality awareness by developing and leading training programs across the company.
  • Provides technical assistance, follows up on corrective actions, non-conformances, and process improvements to ensure timely closure

Requirements

  • BS Degree and/or a minimum of 3 years’ experience and/or training working with Supplier Quality and Supply Base Development.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations with demonstrated professional skills in organizing, analyzing problems, improvement planning, and communications.
  • Expertise in supplier management practices—sourcing strategies, performance evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with quality systems like PPAP procedures, APQP methodologies, and lean manufacturing techniques
  • Ability to interpret diagrams, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Formal training or working knowledge of quality core tools and problem-solving methodologies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications and with a preference for knowledge in International Material Data System (IMDS) and Minitab
