North America Customs Manager

We are looking for a North American Customs Manager who will be responsible for the direct management of import compliance and external resources in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. This position, located in Willis, Texas, will work with internal and external resources such as service providers, attorneys, and customs brokers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive risk management for North American trade policy, monitoring and reporting organizational changes.
  • Expand trade compliance strategy for K.A. locations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Prioritize and address trade compliance initiatives, reducing areas of risk and maximizing areas of opportunity.
  • Planning, analyzing, and implementing a robust customs strategy that aligns with K.A. and customs officials' expectations for the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
  • Monitor, communicate, and implement changes to trade policy, supporting the organization in adjusting business processes to minimize exposure.
  • Build and maintain relationships with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT)/Aduanas, customs brokers, external service providers, and trade and industry organizations.
  • Manage U.S. Import Compliance functions, including, but not limited to, budget planning, leading and reviewing audits, compliance with Free Trade Agreements and Special Tariff Provisions, broker management, and interfacing with Customs Border Patrol requests and audits.
  • Lead strategic oversight of Mexico IMMEX and Canadian import/export compliance functions.
  • Oversee Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) and OEA programs in Mexico.
  • Develop a strategy to standardize KPIs by region and address high-priority topics such as cost reduction opportunities and effective relationships with Customs, Logistics, and Controller functions within all K.A. business units.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in international business, logistics, business management, or a similar field
  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years of trade compliance experience
  • U.S. Licensed Customs Broker
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS)
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations, CFR Title 19, Parts 0–140 and 141–199
  • Technical knowledge of import/export regulations within North America, Mexico, and Canada
  • Intermediate supply chain management and logistics experience
  • Export compliance experience is a plus
