The Logistics Manager is responsible for leading the logistics function in planning, organizing, and controlling the department that balances the overall capacity, material availability, inventory/customer service levels and warehouse activities that are required to meet company objectives.



  • Manage the team to achieve operational excellence, providing guidance and coaching to team members and identifying development needs, with appropriate plans in place to close skills gaps.
  • Achieve target inventory levels, ensuring 100% stock integrity and system accuracy within SAP database.  Drive and develop departmental strategies for inventory on existing items, new product introduction and phase outs.
  • Review historical data including sales trends, research demand drivers, work with purchasing to ensure material on time delivery, commodity spends within production. Coordinate research data to identify significant variances. Share, communicate and report on variances to both internal and external supply chain.
  • Working with demand and forecasts, incorporating current and accurate information to allow the company to correctly predict customer demand and provide supply chain with appropriate information to allow planning on how to meet demand. Implement S&OP.
  • Collaborate with Production team to develop robust capacity planning model and deliver on execution of plan, providing timely and accurate feedback to Sales team.
  • Attain and Maintain expected industry standard OTIF.
  • Excellent systems and methods to continually improve forecast allowing the company to better anticipate customer needs. Use and maintain SAP/MRP data as the primary planning system tool.
  • Execute with excellence in the area of stock and demand replenishment providing feedback to the supply chain on risks regarding replenishment levels and demand.
  • Continuous improvement mindset towards safety and 5S standards across Warehouse, Yard and Logistics office
  • Management of Inbound and Outbound freight, building strong relationships with freight forwarding company to ensure customer service excellence.
  • Control of Import & Export activities, ensuring that customs documentation is accurate and maintained to the highest standard.



Experience and skills:

  • Degree level educated or relevant experience
  • Proven experience of leading a planning/procurement team
  • Experience within manufacturing essential, Automotive experience advantageous
  • Experience of statistical reporting, forecasting and understanding of financial and operational impacts
  • SAP experience is essential
  • Competent IT Skills in Microsoft Office
