Mechanical Design & Simulation Engineer

About the position

This Position of Mechanical Design Engineer with objective to -

  • Support the KA FCS / Raufoss Technical Center of Expertise with professional CAD / Design function, MoldFlow Simulations and technical documentations.
  • Passionate & accountable to support the design tasks of KA FCS / Couplings .

Responsibilities

The main duties are, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for designing composite and brass / aluminium products using computer-aided design software applications like SolidWorks and NX.
  • Responsible for MoldFlow Simulations using Autodesk Moldflow Insight. Able to interpret the results of MoldFlow into the design.
  • Good knowledge of injection molding process.
  • Interact with Global Design Engineers to understand the design concepts and translate them into actual 3D Models / 2D drawings following the KA PLM and KBD process.
  • In alignment with Project Managers, agree on the deliverables and strictly adhere to agreed time-lines for these activities/projects.
  • Secure that the design meets the required requirements.
  • Identify and escalate issues/deviations on time with adequate mitigation.
  • Work according to KA processes and tools, support in continually improving these processes.
  • Report working hours spent on different projects.
  • Prepare the Design change request as and when applicable.

Requirements

  1. Qualifications: Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering

 

  1. Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 7 years of proven Design/CAD experience in Automotive Industry, especially in plastic / composite components and mechanical assemblies.
  • Hands-on experience (at least 7 years) in designing plastic parts; using design standards & proficient in Solidworks and/or NX.
  • Good knowledge of GD&T is mandatory.
  • Prior experience of working in Global teams preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP/PLM & of manufacturing methods would be an additional benefit.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal English, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Power-point, Excel & Word.
  • Ability and willingness to travel globally.
