Sustainability Expert

About the position

We are now looking for a Group Sustainability Expert (f/m/d). The incumbent will focus on compliance activities at Group- and at Purchasing-level. The position can be located in Kongsberg (Norway), Mullsjö or Mölndal (Sweden) or Warsaw (Poland) to lead, develop, and implement activites that will meet our sustainability goals.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities as Group Sustainability Expert are, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Coordination of Sustainability Report according to EU standards (CSRD, Taxonomy)
  • Managing the external auditor requirements and requests for data and documents
  • Follow up on identified reporting gaps (e.g. Climate Scenarios, Resilience Analysis, Climate Transition Plan, Adjust Waste Reporting etc.)
  • Identify and monitor the most material topics in terms of risk and opportunity.
  • Annual EcoVadis, SAQ 5.0 and other Sustainability Assessment for the Group
  • Support answering Sustainability related customer questionnaires and assessments.
  • Coordination of customer requests regarding decarbonization and circularity
  • Setting and tracking of yearly environmental targets (energy-, waste-, water-index)
  • Creation of action plans to achieve environmental targets
  • Calculation of company level- and plant level Scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions (correct emission factors, completeness)
  • Monitor markets and governmental policies to anticipate trends and issues in business and society that affect the Company’s agenda
  • Training of employees & creating awareness for sustainability topics

 

Responsibilities as Purchasing Sustainability Expert are, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Focus primarily on managing compliance and activities related to Conflict Minerals (CM) and other related materials and areas.
  • Be an expert on legal, customer and industry requirements and practices related to other sustainability requirements in the supply chain.
  • Superuser of the external assessment tool (NQC, Ecovadis), and lead activities related to assessments.
  • Follow-up with suppliers and buyers to improve the response rate of assessments
  • Coordinator of on-site supplier sustainability audits for non-compliant suppliers and proposed actions / consequences.
  • Ensure that KA sets up processes and guidelines with regard to sustainability in supply chain, and specifically for CM.
  • Contribute to the Group Sustainability efforts by contributing to the sustainability report, answer standardized customer inquiries and deliver Scope 3 calculations for external reporting.
  • Conduct internal and external (supplier) trainings on sustainability

Requirements

To be successful in this position, the candidate should have an advance degree and have some years of experience in working with sustainability. Additionally, we would like to see:

  • Experience in driving a sustainability program or related program or function.
  • Track record of conducting due diligence across environmental and social topics
  • Good understanding of ESG reporting frameworks (SASB, GRI, TCFD)
  • Experience working across multiple geographies and operating effectively within a global and diverse population
  • Excellent written communications skills including meeting facilitation and presentations.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Pragmatic and action-oriented
