Project Buyer
Do you want to play a key role in launching new products and ensuring that our supply chain is robust, cost‑efficient, and strategically aligned? We are looking for a Project Buyer who thrives at the intersection of project work, strategy, analysis, and supplier development.
About the position
As a Project Buyer, you will be a central member of our KBD–NPI project teams, responsible for all purchasing-related activities from the early development phase through to a successful SOP. You will actively contribute to ensuring that projects meet their targets for cost, quality, timing, and supplier strategy.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary Purchasing representative in KBD–NPI projects
- Prepare cost and lead-time estimates in early project phases
- Ensure supplier capacity, quality, and on-time delivery throughout the project
- Coordinate handover to Product Buyers at project completion
- Analyze quotations and conduct price and terms negotiations based on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principle
- Evaluate suppliers’ production and delivery capabilities (capacity, risk, process)
- Identify and leverage consolidation opportunities and negotiation synergies across projects
- Contribute to cost optimization and standardization
- Purchase prototypes, tools, samples, and development materials
- Follow up on supplier documentation, QAP/Pre‑QAP, in cooperation with SQD
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of commercial experience, preferably within the automotive industry
- Experience with project purchasing, supplier negotiations, and LTA agreements
- Strong understanding of supply chain, risk analysis, and cost structures
- Excellent negotiation and analytical skills
- Experience with ERP systems and purchasing administration
