Process Engineer (PaintShop Engineering)

About the position
The person in this role is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the stability of painting processes, including cataphoresis (KTL) and powder coating, in terms of process technology, optimization, and continuous improvement. The scope also includes coordinating cost improvement initiatives across the plant and supporting implementation of the best available technological and organizational solutions.
Responsibilities
- Organizing and developing the painting process, including defining process steps, setting parameters, and standardizing production stations
- Developing and coordinating improvement projects, proposing new technical solutions to optimize process performance and quality
- Solving process, chemical, and quality-related issues in cooperation with production, quality and maintenance teams
- Preparing and maintaining process documentation (work standards, job instructions, procedures)
- Coordinating the Cost Improvement Process across the plant, supporting idea generation, evaluation, and implementation
- Participating in design and purchasing of production lines and process equipment, including technology implementation and tool selection
- Participating in machine acceptance tests, new product launches, and production transfers
- Analyzing production and quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Achieving goals defined within KPIs and ensuring effective follow-up on actions
- Maintaining effective communication within teams, departments, and external contractors
- Performing all duties in line with occupational health, safety, and environmental protection standards
- Supporting the team and carrying out other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor
Requirements
- Practical experience in chemical surface treatment, cataphoresis (KTL), powder coating and wastewater treatment processes
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and tools
- Familiarity with IATF16949 and automotive quality standards
- Practical knowledge of 5Why, 8D, and FMEA methodologies
- Experience in project management for new products, technologies, and production stations
- Higher technical education in engineering (degree in chemical engineering strongly recommended)
- Very good command of English and Polish
- Willingness to learn, improve qualifications, and share knowledge
- Strong teamwork, coordination, and communication skills
