About the position
This position for the Supplier Quality Development Senior Speciliast with having following objectives -
- To manage the regional team and to act as responsible Supplier Quality Development Engineer within assigned categories.
- Manage your department according to corporate strategies, rules and targets (defined in yearly STP - Strategic Plan) in such a way that objectives are reached.
- Develop and coordinate the category SQD resources and utilize their competence to secure continuous improvements in the quality performance from the supplier base.
- To support and manage the Regional Category SQD Engineers to ensure that all Category SQD related activities are handled according the KA purchasing processes and to the agreement between suppliers, Category Buyers and Category SQD team.
- To complete escalated pro-active and re-active quality assurance activities as dictated by the needs of the business.
- Ensure a Supplier Quality Development process that meets the customer specific requirements, to the latest version of ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 compliance which is maintained in the Kongsberg Automotive Supplier Quality Manual.
Responsibilities
- Operational responsibility for Category SQD within assigned Region
- Personal responsibility for Category SQD Engineers within assigned Region.
- To train and coach the Category SQD team within the organisation.
- To prompt and to develop the purchasing organization to increased interest in matters concerning Supplier Quality.
- To decide on level 3 escalations for Quality reasons after proposal from Category SQD or Plant SQ with all relevant information allowing a decision to be taken.
- To participate and support in Global Sourcing Board meetings for supplier business awards and de-escalation of level 3 cases.
Requirements
Education: To degree level and or with relevant practical experience.
Practical experience: A minimum of 5 -10 years’ experience in engineering or quality. Preferably with a minimum of 5 years’ experience within the automotive industry.
Languages: Have a good command of written and spoken English. Further linguistic skills are considered an additional qualification.
Special requirements: min. 3 years experience in management of an international team.
Reporting and presentation capabilities
Qualified 1st and 2nd party System (Process) Auditor
Relevant quality tools and techniques (QAP, APQP, PPAP, root cause analysis, 8D, etc...)
Computer skills including MS Office, PLM
High degree of personal integrity and confidence
Good conflict management skills
Facilitation skills with a high focus on solutions
Frequent travel as required
