Continuous Improvement Manager

Main objectives

To develop, train, implement, maintain and improve processes and systems related to KAs Continuous Improvement Program. To coordinate and drive continuous improvement throughout all BU locations. This is a critical leadership position reporting directly to the Plant Manager within the site, but with a lot of coordination with the BU management.

Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

Support/Coach/Implement and deploy CI strategy

Support/Develop training standards for organization, to ensure One-KA approach

Provide leadership/ mentoring/training to all levels of the organization on the use and practice of C.I. methodology and tools (e.g. 5S, visual controls, standardized work, VSM & A3, Heijunka, Jidoka, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc…); facilitate large-scale, cross-functional kaizen events.

Work with all elements of the business to integrate CI to include engineering, new product development, supply chain, inventory management, and production control.

Develop infrastructure tools and supporting materials, include training to support the Kongsberg’s C.I. initiatives. Conduct workshops and other training programs that foster the cross functional deployment of C.I. Methodology.

Drive effective on-going communications

Drive culture change and advance C.I. competencies, provide clear and regular communication regarding Kongsberg’s goals and objectives. Provide a system for measurement of results.




To degree level and/or with relevant practical experience.

Practical experience and skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within Continuous Improvement.
  • Knowledge of VAVE/Lean/Six Sigma



  • Scandinavian language minimum spoken level
  • English Fluent level, both written and spoken
