With your skills and ideas, you can make an impact. We are looking for a Global Program Manager (f/m/d). The position is based in Dortmund (Germany).


  • Global Support for product family definition, improvements, and implementation according to regional customer requirements with a focus on project standardization
  • Support R&D and Programs Director with product improvements and cost reductions proposals for assigned product family
  • Maintain focus on initiated projects to gain additional benefits for the business area through gaining efficiencies in program (operational, design, purchasing)
  • Partner with the global technology teams and ensuring product delivery
  • End-to-end ownership of requirements gathering documentation, planning, and implementation of cost-effective solutions
  • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally across multiple teams in operations, technology and planning to define strategic roadmaps while keeping the impact of the solution to all stakeholders in mind
  • Create and implement data driven improvements
  • Deep dive and conduct root-cause analysis using data, and create metrics-driven, actionable, and sustainable solutions for the future
  • Monitor KPI’s across nodes, analyzes key drivers to determine the level and type of engagement required based on the risk to customer experience and utilization of technology
  • Ownership on Quality, Costs & Delivery on the assigned program
  • Reporting project/program status to the Steering Committee (STC)
  • Run the projects according to KA Management System, Knowledge Based Development – New Product Integration (KBD-NPI) and Product Improvement Process (PIP)
  • Secure the quality of all changes (technical, time plan and economy), using KA’s Engineering Change Management (ECM) or Product Improvement Process (PIP) procedure
  • To review project budgets ensuring that projects are delivered within 100% of budget as signed off at the start of the project, implementing recovery plans where this figure is exceeded


  • MS or BA degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Mechatronics, Materials) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a program manager within the automotive industry
  • Leadership, interpersonal skills, personal drive and confidence lead and work with cross functional teams
  • Knowledge and experience about the product development process (APQP) and project management within Automotive
  • Proven ability to define business models and to launch new concepts
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills combined with the ability to quickly grasp complex issues
  • Experience in data analytics, and usability testing and insights when defining the product roadmap and vision
  • Entrepreneurial drive and willingness to tackle challenges in an innovative and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to tackle problems pro-actively through creative solutions
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, that can be applied across a diverse set of audiences in a sensitive and diplomatic manner
  • Automotive industry knowledge and experience managing third-party teams
  • Microsoft Office Suite, esp. planning tools e.g. MS Project, PLM etc.
  • Knowledge in systems development and functionality
  • Knowledge of  ISO standard for Electrical & Electronical components developments and testing (e.g ISO 26262,…) is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Automotive Standards e.g. APQP, IATF 16949, ASPICE or background in Commercial Vehicles is a plus
  • Network in the national and international product engineering
  • Fluent in English; other languages like German, Catalan, Spanish or Mandarin are a plus
  • Ability to travel to regional hubs, USA and China mainly
